Found at the heart of the old Millennium Dome, the O2 Arena has quickly become one of London’s premier performance venues.
ID Networks was subcontracted to provide the software programming for a full Public Address and Voice Alarm system capable of not only meeting the most stringent British and European safety regulations, but also of providing true concert grade audio in all areas. The system can be broken down in two fundamental parts, the Performance Arena and all other areas which include Concourses, Executive Suits, Restaurants and Back of House facilities.
The main Performance Arena features a comprehensive Harman Pro PA system capable of augmenting temporary tour systems or providing full coverage in its own right. The system uses networked audio control and monitoring with Harman Pro’s HiQnet processing and amplification with audio distribution over CobraNet on a dedicated TCP/IP network. All other areas are again covered using networked HiQnet products with dual interleaved speaker circuits for fault resiliency.
All components in the system from emergency paging microphones and playback devices right through to loudspeaker are continually monitored for audio integrity. Faults are reported back to two master control stations displayed on large format touch screens with a topographical display of the Arena for easy manipulation.
Integration with the fire and building management systems mean that error states with the PAVA system can be monitored, reported and logged right through the entire venue.
